GREG ADAMS
TRUMPET, FLUGELHORN, ARRANGER

Greg Adams, a founding member of Tower of Power from 1970 to 1995, played an integral role in the group’s success, recording 14 albums during his tenure. His outstanding contributions to music earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying a Vocal for Tower of Power’s iconic hit, “What Is Hip.” He also received a Prime-Time Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction for the Late Night with David Letterman 7th Anniversary Special. Adams’ talent extended beyond performing; he was honored with the Hollywood Radio and Television International Broadcast Award for his work on the Budweiser "Wilson Pickett" campaign. Additionally, he served two terms on the Board of Governors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy (NARAS®). As a prolific arranger, he is credited with horn and string arrangements on over 40 RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum albums. Beyond Tower of Power, Adams toured with renowned acts like Little Feat, Huey Lewis and The News, Santana, Heart, and Miwa Yoshida for the Beauty and Harmony Tours, including Japan’s Dreams Come True Tour in 2019. He has also performed alongside legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones, Madonna, and Celine Dion. As a solo artist, Adams has achieved extraordinary success, with five #1 songs on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts, solidifying his place as a true icon in the music industry.
Greg has played on over 3000 recordings. Beginning early with arrangements on Sir Elton John’s “The Bitch Is Back” and Chaka Kahn’s “Fool’s Paradise” You’ve heard Greg’s collaboration with Paul Shaffer on the opening theme of Late Show with David Letterman and on score arrangements in films as, Duets, Mask, Top Gun, Saving Silverman, and Austin Powers in Goldmember with Smashmouth. Teaming up with Stanley Clarke on Little Big League and on Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band with the illustrious Sir George Martin. Principal arranger for the Japanese Super Group Dreams Come True for 30 years.
DEL ATKINS
BASS

Del Atkins, an accomplished bassist, holds a B.A. in Digital Media Arts with a focus on Music Technology from California State University Dominguez Hills, and a Master’s degree in Music Industry Administration from California State University Northridge. With an impressive career spanning multiple genres, Del served as Music Director for James Ingram from 2008 to 2018 and earned a Dove Award nomination as co-producer of The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle. He also showcased his leadership as Musical Director and Conductor for A Moulin Rouge show, written by Debbie Allen. In 2008, Del directed a tribute to Quincy Jones at the Northwest African American Museum in Seattle, featuring icons such as Carlos Santana, James Ingram, and Siedah Garrett.
His extensive career includes serving as Music Director for Heather Headley in 2007 and for Jessica Simpson from 2002 to 2006. As a touring musician, Del has performed with renowned artists like the Pointer Sisters, Lou Rawls, Les McCann, Dr. Dre, Ricky Jones, and Patrice Rushen. His contributions extend to high-profile performances, including Paul McCartney’s Early Days video in 2014, Rihanna’s performance at the American Music Awards in 2013, and multiple seasons of American Idol during Hollywood Week (2009–2012). Del’s extraordinary talent and versatility have established him as a sought-after figure in the music industry.

HERMAN MATTHEWS
DRUMS

Herman Matthews, an exceptional drummer with a dynamic career, was a member of the iconic Tower of Power band from 1995 to 2002. He later toured with Sir Tom Jones from 2002 to 2009, followed by his work on the American Stars Motown Tour in 2010. From 2013 to 2014, Herman joined Hugh Laurie & The Copper Bottom Band, showcasing his versatility and skill on a global stage.
Herman’s extensive touring credits include collaborations with celebrated artists such as Kirk Whalum, Bob James, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Timothy B. Schmit, Exposé, Bill Champlin, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, and The Isley Brothers. As a recording artist, his impressive credits feature work with George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Tower of Power, Judith Owen, Tiffany, Teresa James, Edwin McCain, and Robin Thicke.
In addition to his remarkable career as a touring and session drummer, Herman has released his own solo album, Home At Last, a testament to his talent and artistry. With his rich background and unmatched expertise, Herman Matthews continues to be a celebrated figure in the world of music.
JOHNNIE BAMONT
ALTO, TENOR, BARITONE SAX, FLUTE

Johnnie Bamont, a versatile musician proficient on alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones as well as the flute, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from San Francisco State University. His illustrious career includes touring with Huey Lewis and The News as a band member and performing on a European tour with Sly & The Family Stone in 2007. In 2019, he joined the Dreams Come True Tour in Japan, further showcasing his global reach.
Johnnie has performed alongside a variety of legendary artists, including Boz Scaggs, Tower of Power, Donna Summer, The Temptations, Larry Carlton, The Sons of Champlin, and Lydia Pence with Cold Blood. His impressive recording credits feature collaborations with Huey Lewis and The News, Celine Dion, Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak, Todd Rundgren, Toni! Tony! Toné!, and Dianne Schuur. With his exceptional talent and extensive experience, Johnnie Bamont continues to leave an indelible mark on the music industry.
RICHARD SMITH
GUITAR

Richard Smith, an acclaimed guitarist and Professor of Music at USC Thornton School of Music, has established himself as a leading figure in contemporary jazz. His contributions to the genre have earned him accolades such as “Best Contemporary Jazz Guitar Album” from Tune Up Magazine (England) and a nomination for “Record of the Year” by Ad Lib Magazine (Japan). Additionally, he was named “Best New Artist” by Radio & Records Magazine (USA) and has achieved multiple contemporary jazz radio hits.
Richard’s career includes touring with Richard Elliot and performing with celebrated artists such as Kenny G, Dave Koz, Dan Siegel, and Rick Braun. He regularly tours Europe, where he also hosts seminars and master classes, sharing his expertise with aspiring musicians. As the founder of the L.A.-based group L.A. Chillharmonic, Richard collaborated with a roster of iconic musicians, including Brian Bromberg (bass), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), Alex Acuña (percussion), Jeff Lorber (keyboards), Patrice Rushen, Greg Karukas (pianos), Greg Adams (trumpet), and saxophonists Gary Meek, Michael Paulo, and Eric Marienthal.

TERRELL EDWARDS
LEAD VOCALS

Terrell Edwards, a gifted lead vocalist known for his soulful and seductive voice, has captivated audiences with his artistry and heartfelt performances. For three years, he opened for Jay Leno at the Rancho Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, performing with his Tri-City Rat Group. He has worked alongside Eric Benet and continues to tour internationally with his Unforgettable Show, a masterful blend of Classic American Standards. This show pays tribute to legends like Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ray Charles, blending the elegance of Sinatra with the soul of Motown.
As a singer-songwriter, Terrell has a remarkable talent for penning and producing hits across Pop, R&B, and Gospel genres, earning him multiple Billboard chart successes. Beyond his music, Terrell is deeply committed to philanthropy. He launched the Spread Love campaign, using music to unify people and promote messages of positivity and awareness. In 2007, he founded The Reach Mission Foundation, supporting youth and senior initiatives in local communities. More recently, he lent his voice and influence to critical causes such as the Suicide Prevention 988 Lifeline and Find a Cure for ALS, aligning with Daytime Unites for ALS.

NICK MILO
KEYBOARDS

Nick Milo, an accomplished keyboardist and songwriter, was a key member of Tower of Power from 1988 to 1999, contributing to five of their albums. His talents extended beyond performance as he collaborated with the band on songwriting and maintained a 30-year writing partnership with Greg Adams. From 2001 to 2014, Nick served as the Musical Director and band member for the legendary Joe Cocker, bringing his expertise to stages worldwide. He has also toured with artists such as Bonnie Hayes and Maria Muldaur.
As a co-producer, Nick played a significant role in Greg Adams and East Bay Soul’s albums THE REAL and Conversation. His creative work spans a diverse range of projects, including composing music for film, television, and dance. His credits include Discovery Channel documentaries, CBS’s 50th Anniversary Special, the theme song for CBS’s The Wild Web, and contributions to PBS’s Nova with Greg Adams.
In addition to his music career, Nick has worked in dance, serving as an accompanist for the dance department at the University of Illinois. There, he collaborated with renowned companies such as José Limón and Martha Graham, as well as guest faculty member Mary Anthony, a contemporary of Martha Graham. Nick Milo’s extraordinary versatility and dedication to his craft have made him a revered figure in the worlds of music and performance.

Ed Wynne, an accomplished alto saxophonist, is a founder of The Burbank Music Academy and serves as the Executive Director of Rocking For The Arts, a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) organization. With an impressive career spanning over 3 decades, he toured worldwide with Al McKay’s Earth, Wind & Fire Experience and formerly served as Music Director for Wayne Brady. Ed has performed alongside legendary artists such as The Doobie Brothers, Boy George, Elton John (including the 2020 Oscars Live performance), Keb’ Mo’, Clarence Clemons, Ronnie Laws, Patrice Rushen, and Bill Medley. His saxophone and vocal talents have also graced numerous television productions, including American Idol, The Martin Short Show, Beaches (starring Bette Midler & Barbara Hershey), That ‘70s Show, The Fox Morning Show, and a seven-year run with The Blues Brothers Show. With his diverse expertise and passion for music and with a recently released first solo project “Funk Therapy”, Ed continues to make a lasting impact on the industry.

TRUMPET, FLUGELHORN

Micheal Stever is a distinguished lead trumpet and flugelhorn player who currently serves as a faculty member at USC Thornton School of Music. With an impressive career in the music industry, he has contributed horn arrangements for notable artists such as Brian Culbertson, Adam Hawley, Michael Bereal, and Blake Aaron, and co-wrote the radio single "Flash Forward" with Carl Cox. His dynamic performances have been featured in acclaimed projects including Joker 2, Ford vs. Ferrari, Book of Boba Fett, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. Formerly associated with Brian Culbertson and Rufus, Micheal has also toured with Seth MacFarlane and the Pacific Jazz Orchestra, highlighted by his participation in the Dreams Come True Tour 2019 in Japan.
